Lecture by Elizabeth Rosen, Denmark

Saturday, 13th of November, at 12.00 am in kim? lecture hall Elizabeth Rosen from The National Film School of Denmark will present a lecture and introduce the audience with the school, and present short films, of the directors, who have graduated it, Lars von Trier, Thomas Winterberg, Christoffer Boe among them.

The National Films School of Denmark is considered to be one of the strongest film schools in Europe; during the lecture, followed by a film screening, the audience will get a direct insight in the specifics of this school and its tendencies.

The lecture by Elizabeth Rosen is one of the events in a series of seminaries, provided by Kinoskola and Danish Cultural Institute in Riga, in order to provoke a discussion on various aspects of the film education both in Latvia and in Scandinavia. In addition to these events, a film program from the The National Film School of Denmark will be presented in cinema KSuns from 12th to 14th of November, providing works by ars von Trier, Thomas Winterberg, Christoffer Boe, Pernille Fischer Christensen and other significant film directors from Denmark.

The National Film School of Denmark is a state school, financially supported by the Danish Ministry of Cultural Affairs. The school was founded in 1966 by Theodor Christensen and is located on a beautiful site on the small island of Frederiksholm in the harbour of Copenhagen; there are 10 study programmes available: film, TV, scriptwriting and animation directing, producing, and others. It is the only school in Denmark dedicated fully to cinematography and TV related education; many world know film professionals have graduated it.
