In the annual White Night, kim? together with the local and the international artists, invites to an exciting contemporary art project in Spīķeri. Exhibitions of contemporary art, interactive performances and live presentations of the local and international artists, will be open for visitors from 7pm to 2am.

Krišs Salmanis "Insomnia".

During the evening, several different exhibitions will be opened: in kim? / VKN gallery an exhibition “Insomnia” by Krišs Salmanis will be opened to visitors. Close to an unpleasant dream, the exhibition ushers into a closed up world, where simple actions have become unbearable and swampy.
In kim? / FK gallery exhibition by Ieva Epnere “The Green Land” will be opened, revealing scenes of a town, which was once full of live, but now is rather covered by meadows and seized by solitude.

Apart from the Latvian artists, a well known group of Danish artists „Superflex” will open their apocalyptic installation „Flooded McDonald’s” at kim? / RIXC gallery; this exposition takes place in the frames of the international festival „Survial Kit 2". While the exhibitions will settle for the next upcoming weeks indoors, outdoors the Lithuanian creative group „Mother Eleganza” will have their live presentations - a group of ten artists, musicians, designers will be there with performances, screen shows and live music.

Each visitor will be able to become a part of the installation by Krišs Salmanis, titled "The Triumph of Painting". It is a challenge to meet a landscape by the old - but once modern - master Vilhelms Purvītis, and to decide: to take or not to take a paintball game gum in hands, in order to create a new landscape on his painting "Winter", which has been originally created a hundred years ago.

The evening events will take place from 7pm to 2am.
