“The Case in the Café”: the painting, the catalogue and a talk

As part of the event series “The Case in the Café” a talk titled “Art, Humour and Crime” will be held in the Restaurant Kitchen on December 8 at 17.00 with the opening of the catalogue of the upcoming exhibition by Normunds Brūveris “Famous Chillie Willie in Riga”. The artist’s painting “Wanted by FBI” (2006) will be exhibited in the restaurant until January 29, 2012. Vairāk »

“Vēja Roze, h 93 m”. Evening with Dutch artist Arianne Olthaar

Continuing the cooperation with Heden, from August 1 to November 1 kim? hosts Dutch artist Arianne Olthaar. During her stay in Riga the artist focusses on 1980s architecture and specific (-ly located) public interiors, e.g. the former restaurant “Vēja Roze” in the Riga Radio and TV Tower, and the lobby in the Latvia TV Broadcast building. Kaspars Podnieks' works in Białystok and kim? contribution to the "FAX" exhibition

During the autumn season KIM? Contemporary Art Centre takes part in art processes also otside the house. From October 15 in Poland, Białystok, in cooperation with kim?, the series of photographs "Unusual Place" by Latvian artist Kaspars Podnieks will be on view in exhibition curated by Rael Artel (EE) "Life in the Forest". Following the invitation of the New York based organization ICI, in late October and November kim? and selected Latvian artists are adding their contribution to the traveling exhibition "FAX" in the South London Gallery.
