In collaboration with the Latvian Radio Choir, Latvian National Opera and chamber orchestra “Sinfonietta Rīga”, kim? is launching the youth education programme “Backstage”. The programme is aimed at youths attending secondary schools, colleges and high schools, as well as art and music schools.
The programme “Backstage” offers youths an opportunity to learn about the various contemporary culture organizations that they previously had entered only through the visitors’ door. The youths will gain an insight into the lengthy, complicated yet fascinating and creative work process that goes on before an exhibition opens its doors to visitors or the stage curtain is raised before a concert or a performance commences.

On a visit to kim? youths will have an opportunity to learn about the everyday life that goes on at kim?, to meet artists and to engage in a discussion about contemporary art. A visit to the Spīķeru Concert Hall will feature experiencing the rehearsal process of the chamber orchestra “Sinfonietta Rīga” and Latvian Radio Choir, while a visit to the Latvian National Opera will discover the secret life that goes on at backstage of the theatre.
The aim of the programme “Backstage” is to create a deeper understanding of the workings of various culture organizations, as well as to motivate young people to connect their future with different fields of culture.
