This summer kim? with the support of Youth in Action Programme is organizing photography and video summer schools for 16 – 19 year old youths without prior experience.

In the Photography School (director – Raimo Lielbriedis, 02/08/2010 – 09/08/2010) a group of 20 youths will take classes in photography, composition, visit photography studios and practice photography with up-to-date equipment. 

In the Video School (director – Lauma Epnere; 09/08/2010 – 16/08/2010) a group of 20 youths will learn about various film and video genres, take a class in the history of film, as well as in shooting and editing, will visit a film studio and make their own short film.

The works created during the summer schools will be exhibited at kim?, as well as elsewhere in Latvia. 

kim? provides:
•    equipment;
•    travel cards for public transportation;
•    two meals per day – dinner and supper;
•    and covers any emergency costs.

For those who do not live in Riga kim? also covers the costs of:
•    transportation to and from Riga;
•    stay at the student hotel “PRIMA” (10 Raznas Street, Riga);
•    breakfast at the hotel.

In order to apply for any of the schools, you must send the application form, as well as write a motivation letter to izglitiba@kim.lv or Maskavas iela 12/1, Rīga, LV-1050 indicating “kim? summer schools” by 18 June. Applications from youths living outside Riga are particularly welcome!

The classes will be held in Latvian.
